Miranda Simon, LICSW
DBT Clinician | Steady Guide | Skilled in Life’s Complex Emotional Terrain
Miranda brings a grounded, thoughtful presence and strong clinical
skill to her work with clients navigating complex emotional and
relational challenges. She earned her MSW from Southern Connecticut
State University, where she focused on supporting individuals with
co-occurring mental health concerns and developed a deep appreciation
for integrated, skills-based care.
Miranda specializes in personality disorders and trauma, approaching treatment with compassion, structure, and a strong data proven foundation. Her work is rooted in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and integrates cognitive behavioral strategies, mindfulness practices, and motivational approaches to help clients build insight, strengthen coping, and move toward lasting change. She has also completed extensive training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), allowing her to support clients in processing traumatic experiences while maintaining emotional safety and stability.
Since 2017, Miranda has been an active member of multiple DBT consultation teams and has co-led DBT teen, multi-family, and adult skills groups. Her clinical experience includes work in higher levels of care and seven years in community mental health, where she served in several roles including Clinical Supervisor, DBT group and individual therapist, and staff clinician.
Outside the therapy room, Miranda enjoys hiking with friends, getting lost in a good book, watching movies, gardening, and spending time with family and her two cats.
