A Little Bit About David...
I was raised in a blue collar household on the south shore in Holbrook and Quincy. I've had a lot of jobs over the years which makes me very well-versed and multi-skilled. From landscaping, to retail, to telecommunications to hospitality and restaurants, to human services and workforce development I try to take all of my skills and utilize them in a therapeutic way. Experiential learning is what I hold to be one of the more valuable things in this world. To this day you'll still find me with grease under my fingernails, drumsticks in my back pocket and in the local hardwares store working on some sort of project. I never wish to lose this part of me and where I came from.
WHY DID YOU BECOME A THERAPIST?
Like many others I've always had a natural ability and desire to want to help and to connect with others. I was attracted to the idea of being able to alter your life and narrative in a positive way with the proper guidance. I discovered that I wanted to become a therapist in 2006 while in treatment with a psychologist who helped steer my career path. Counseling is a natural fit and helped me to strive to improve myself continuously along the way. In full disclosure, watching my father battle substance use and mental illness until his recent passing likely plays a tremendous part of why I chose this field and not others.
