A Little Bit About Susan...
I grew up in the Midcoast area of Maine. I loved growing up in a small coastal village where the mountains and the sea meet. The scenery and summers were majestic but the winters were cold. I was fortunate to grow up in a time and place where we could play outside safely all day long and I could visit my nearby relatives and friends easily by riding my bike or walking. Now, I love living on the South Shore of Massachusetts with my husband and raising a 10 year old daughter, and an 8 year old son. We treat our animals including: a Great Pyrenees dog, a black cat, a fluffy bunny, and 5 chickens; like members of our family.
WHY DID YOU BECOME A THERAPIST?
To be a helper. Since I was a small child, I knew I wanted to be part of a helping profession whether it be a doctor, nurse, or therapist. As I grew older, I became more and more interested in how our physical and mental health are interconnected. I have always had a passion for “fighting for the underdog.” Hence, I pursued graduate degrees in social work and public health. I have had various professional experiences within this field and have found my work as a therapist to be the most rewarding.
