A space to build skills, express emotions, and connect through creativity
Is your teen artistic, expressive, or simply in need of a more creative
way to manage big emotions? Our Massachusetts Creative Teen DBT Group
combines the evidence-based tools of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) with
creative expression; offering teens a chance to learn life-changing skills
in a space that feels personal, meaningful, and safe.
Why Creativity & DBT?
DBT helps teens manage overwhelming emotions, build better
relationships, and stay grounded when life feels too big. Creativity gives
them a powerful outlet to process, express, and reflect. Together, these
approaches create a group experience that’s equal parts therapeutic and empowering.
What We Practice
In this group, teens will learn DBT skills through both conversation and creative exercises focused on:
-
Mindfulness – Being present and aware without judgment
-
Emotion Regulation – Understanding and managing emotional waves
-
Distress Tolerance – Coping with tough moments in healthy ways
-
Interpersonal Effectiveness – Communicating needs while maintaining respect and connection
How We Create
Teens will explore:
-
Art-Based Activities like painting, collage, and drawing
-
Creative Writing through journaling, poetry, or storytelling
-
And other imaginative exercises that support reflection and self-expression
No art experience required; just a willingness to try.
